ArtFields in Lake City was a fun weekend.   Click here to see the prize winners.  I didn’t win a prize (this year),  but I had a good time watching the portrait competition, looking at the art, and dancing at the awards party on the green.

In spite of being awakened from a sound sleep at 11 p.m. by the fireworks, Barbara Yongue and I got up early and were painting at this old barn outside of town by 8 a.m. Sunday.   We were attracted by the morning light illuminating the odd angles and surrounding spirea and honeysuckle.  A perfect spring morning like this is what plein air painting is all about!
