This small painting was painted on location at the reflecting pool at the base of Amicalola Falls. The panel was pre-toned with yellow ochre. For the first layer, I mixed paint with walnut oil to form a warm dark transparent, fast-drying glaze. Then I added the cool greens in a thicker layer on top.
