Oil on masonite

At the Brunsville paintout last weekend, I found a sheltered spot where I had a view of a house with a steeply pitched roof and an old brick wall with an unusual curve. As the weather was rainy, the light was cool. Although I was glad to complete a painting for the show in spite of the weather, I was not happy with the cool colors. After I returned home, I repainted the same scene using warmer colors and this is the result. While painting on location is a valuable exercise, sometimes I need to bring the idea back to the studio to develop a personal color combination.
