After a wet and cold week, a warm sunny Sunday inspired a plein air excursion to Clemson’s Research and Education Center near my home. I liked a backlit tree with the strong shadows extending toward me. As usual, I started with a red background and placed the strongest contrasts in the foreground and softened the contrast and details in the background.
