These palmetto trees are in our east side garden. We originally bought them to add interest in a boring section of the garden where we couldn’t get centipede grass to grow. Now they anchor a favorite part of the garden. I love the dappled shade and the rattle of the dry fronds when the wind blows.

When we installed these trees in the side yard, my husband told me this would be Happy Birthday, Merry Christmas, and Anniversary, too, for that year. Thus, their names.

This painting and several other garden paintings are on display at Best Mattress at 2930 Devine Street.   It’s a great opportunity for me to display some of my large pieces in a cavernous space with high ceilings. It’s amazing how small they look in a different setting.
