On the morning of the 2015 Winter Solstice, the sunrise was spectacular. Pink, yellow, and violet filled the sky around the dark silhouettes of the trees. I took a few photos and tried to memorize the colors. The clouds were moving quickly and in about 5 minutes, the sky was completely gray and the rest of the day was overcast. I quickly made this small mixed media piece to help me remember the light though the long dark night and gray of winter.
I wish you a warm and happy holiday season and prosperous new year. I will be taking a break next week and will talk to you again in 2016. Hold on to the light until then!
