After listening to my art friends on Zoom talk about drawing and using other papers for printing, I did something a little different this week. I made some prints of native azalea leaves using rice paper and glued it to watercolor paper to use as a base for a drawing. I cut fresh leaves from the shrub and drew it on top of the print.
Here is my process. The monoprint:
Fresh leaves and drawing tools:
Drawing with graphite and ink:
Adding watercolor:
While I was considering what to make this week, I wandered around the garden looking for inspiration. The birds seemed to like the rain we had overnight, so I made a short video of my garden stroll.

I love the colors in this new gel print and the black line drawing on top of the print is exquisite, it is like the cherry on top of your dessert. Beautiful Cindy, I really like this one.
Thanks, Harriette!
Enjoyed the garden stroll, Cindy. Thanks for sharing. Such fine inspiration!
Thanks, George!

Thanks, Barbara! Wish you could be here to tour in person.
So cool Cindy! And what a lovely garden tour! I loved the birds singing in the background.
Thanks, Pam! The birds make the best music, don’t they?
