Acrylic and pastel on gallery wrap canvas
©2016 Lucinda Howe
It’s the season for irises in the southeastern USA!

I’ve been working on other projects and haven’t had much time in the studio this week, so i’m republishing an iris painting from the spring of 2016. For this mixed media piece, I combined acrylic and latex house paint with graphite and pastels. I like the scratchy energy of the line work on top of the paint.

Thanks to my cousin Pat for bringing me irises from her garden to pose for the painting.
