Pink and Yellow

Pink and Yellow in the autumn garden. Sasanqua, swamp sunflower, beauty berry, chrysanthemum, bees.

Autumn is flirting with my part of South Carolina. Summer perennials are going to seed, and leaves are beginning to fall. But the days are still warm, and the late blooming perennials are having a pink and yellow moment.

Late summer (early autumn) perennials

This morning I cut a few flowers and leaves from the garden to inspire my artwork. I selected some prints from my stash and made a few prints with my new stencils. Along with pink and yellow, I chose black for structure and green for foliage.

I chose an unfinished 12×12” collage and added a few more collage pieces.

A collage started previously, but never finished.

This piece is close to being finished, but I’ll let it sit for a few days to see if it needs any changes.

  1. I am looking forward to the finished piece. I like experimenting with art, it leads to ideas you never thought of before.

  2. Love seeing your garden treasures and the processes of your printmaking. My mountain flowers and foliage are quite different, but love to arrange little Still Lifes indoors.

  3. Looks terrific. A classic design.
