Testing the Colors

Test prints using Golden Open Acrylics

As I experiment with different types of acrylic paint, I’ve found that Golden Open acrylics work well for gelli printing. By applying them in a thin layer on white paper, I get brilliant color. Some colors are more transparent than others, and sometimes they look different from the small swipe on the tube. Open acrylics dry slowly, so I must allow time for drying between layers. Later, I will print other colors over them to test how the layers look depending on which color is on top.

When I start a printing session, I will choose 3-5 colors to build a color scheme. The color charts will help me choose the paints to give me the effect that I want.
