Making a Collage

This week I’m making a nonrepresentational collage by tearing and reassembling pieces from gelli prints. I’m featuring autumn colors and textures and a cruciform (aka parallel X) composition. I’m consciously staying away from recognizable imagery in order to pay attention to color and composition. Here are the steps in the process.

Gathering ideas

Setting intentions

Geli print base layer, 14xz12″

Colors and textures in gelli prints

Cruciform (parallel X) composition

Testing design ideas

Making small adjustments
What will I do next?
