Painting in Layers

Last week I posted this painting of a live oak allée near the South Carolina coast. I started this piece after seeing a demonstration by Gerard Erly at Trenholm Artists Guild where he started with  a dark underpainting and added glazes. This short video shows the progression of how I built up the layers in this piece.

    Loved the purple, you always seem to have great colors in your art. I especially remember the paintings you started on the red background
