As I’ve been making layered gelli prints, I’ve accumulated a stack of pieces that have sections I may rework or cut up for collage. I decided to use a few of these in autumn colors to make the cover of a blank book. This is one of the book binding lessons in Julie Fei-Fan Balzer’s class A Year of Gelatin Printing.
I made a blank journal with pages of pastel paper. The covers are gelli prints on deli paper glued to the backing board from a pad of art paper. The Coptic stitch binding is a way to join pages together without glue. The book is 8 ¼ x 6 x 1 inches.
